My life on glossies started at Cosmopolitan 12 years ago. I was a wide-eyed sub editor in a fuchsia power dress, surprised and a little bit embarrassed to see everyone around me was wearing T-shirts, jeans and Converse. At Cosmo I also wrote travel features, then moved to SHE as a senior sub and writer. After a stint at Vogue House as managing editor of Condé Nast Brides, I went to CosmoGIRL! as chief sub editor, where I became obsessed with Busted and The OC – and when I wasn’t regressing, I acted up and covered for the editor in her absence.
Since the teen sector died I’ve been a freelance writer, regularly and reliably turning around lively and concise copy and columns for magazines including Fabulous, Glamour, LOOK, Zest, Top Santé, Mother & Baby and Pregnancy & Birth. I also write trade features for travel, health and wellbeing titles, including Spa Business and Abercrombie & Kent, and I happily put on my copywriting hat for corporate clients.
As well as taking on commissions, I’m available for editing shifts. I live in Hertfordshire with my husband and two young sons, where I dream of mastering macaroons and being a professional Argentine tango dancer.
